Supporters XI Profiles

Thank you to all those who contributed, additional contributions are also welcome either by e-mailing me or sending me a PM through the Forum.

1. Pete Ide (74), Goalkeeper. Nicknames: "Bonetti", "The Cat", "How Old"

One of the more senior players with bags of experience! A little too much if you ask me! Overheard to have requested an extra changing room with ramp access for his zimmer. However, Bonetti is a great shot stopper not through his agility but through his sheer presence in goal, those that know him will know what I mean! Sunday league career was curtailed mid-way through the 2004/05 season after letting the basement side's 4'9 forward score a header.

2. Paul Dainty (45), Right-Back. Nickname: "Chairman"

Claims to be "very fit" after recently skiing in the Caribbean!! Has plenty of pedigree counting South West University, Paddock Wood and East Peckham among his former clubs, a real thoroughbred who opened his Angels scoring account on his debut (and only appearance) for the Reserves in May 2005. A former Chairman and now Director of TAFC, so definitely one to stand next to at the bar after the game!

3. Aaron Hill (36), Left-Back. Nickname: "Assa"

Played most of his football in Mid Sussex Leagues for Uckfield, Nutley and Maresfield. Moved to Tonbridge about ten years ago and now play in a works team in Snodland. Has the unfortunate task of following Brighton away (Withdean's a shit hole apparently!) and should be in the squad for the Kingstonian match providing he survives the Seagulls' trip to Millwall!

4. Chris McFerran (24), Midfielder. Nicknames: "BFG", "McFly", "McFlurry", "Macca" etc

Tall leggy Patrick Vieira type player who has tried every position possible without ever settling into any of them. Played for his Uni side and more recently a 2 and half year spell with TBC FC. Currently a Free Agent and looking for a club. Any offers then please contact his agent.

Strong Points – Superb delivery from wide areas and dangerous from set pieces on the edge of the box. Known to try a few step over’s here and there.

Weaknesses – The lad can suffer from a lack of confidence. Supports Arsenal. Left foot is as much use as an ash tray on a motorbike.

5. Gary Cornwell (19), Centre-Back. Nicknames: "Gazza", "Rio"

No stranger to the Longmead turf, having had his name plucked from the draw to play in the 2004 Courier Cup match. Memorably mistaken for a genuine Angels player with Joe Fuller identified as the 'supporter playing among heroes'! A rock in defence who looks like a veteran but plays like a schoolboy! Certainly a ‘Mr Positive’ in the team who’s head will not drop at anything even when his team manage six points from a possible 27! No offence Dobla!

6. Chris Fenwick (16), Centre-Back. Nicknames: "Fenners", "Boumsong"

Also at the heart of defence who likes to push forward when he can and not suffering from his hamstring! This bimbo has plenty of pace and definitely has the ability to play at the highest level but his lack of braincells somewhat let him down. Sure to be nutmegged on more than one occasion per game, "Boumsong" is always entertaining and worth the entrance fee alone.Counts among his major influences in his career, Thomas the Tank Engine and Sooty. Also, like Dan is scared to get his wallet out although does have the excuse of being one of the younger members of the team! Know what I mean BOI !!

7. Mike Davis (22), Midfielder. Nickname: "Wet Look"

Wearing the shirt of his idols Piscina and Beckham, his pre-match warm up will be to style his hair! Renowned for doing more scoring off the pitch than on! Mike will be keen to show off his Trundle-like showboats and will perhaps be attempting to turn every opposing player on the pitch before shooting for goal.

8. Peter Shearman (23), Midfielder. Nickname: "Goose"

Never really settled into any position having played for TBC FC since the age of 16 and playing in many positions including Keeper, Left Back, Right Back, Anywhere across the midfield and even a short spell as goal getter. Hasn’t played a lot of football recently because of the beer gut syndrome.

Strong Points – Has two decent footballing feet and has a bullet (and precise!!) of a right foot shot. A very eager and hungry (burgers included) footballer.

Weaknesses – Known to misjudge the flight of the high ball. Will run underneath it and then ends up shouting “GOOSE’S!!” whilst leaning backwards trying to get something on it but will end up heading back towards his own goal or completely missing it.

9. Lee Locke ( ), Attack. Nicknames: "Hitman", "Jay May"

Little is known of this striking enigma, but the Hitman is a cool, calm and casual figure in front of goal. Hoping to emulate his goalscoring Longmead hero on the pitch, that will be Steve Hearn then (not Tony Potts!)

10. Sam Hancock (18), Attack. Nicknames: "Scouse", "Sammo"

This cheeky chappy can often be seen down Sainsbury's car park on a Friday evening, breaking into his favourite vehicles or nicking their alloys. Fast and a good eye for goal, he's bound to be a handful for any defender, especially in his new 'baby blue' boots. Sam has recently passed his driving test, no more joyriding for you then Sammo.

11. Dan Couldridge (24), Attack. Nicknames "The Goat", "Statto"

Lethal in front of goal, well compared to Danny Lye anyway! Don’t expect him to buy the post match beers though as the only thing his wallet holds is cobwebs and dust! Best position alleged to be on the subs bench or holding a linesman's flag. Weak shot and weak in the tackle (cheers - Ed) but has a good work rate on him and a good eye for the gap in the defence.

Probable Substitutes:
12. Dean "Deano" Spenceley - from the Under 18s Deano is a hot prospect recovering from injury and will be keen to get a run-out at the end of the game.

14. Mike "Tiny" Ide - for a small lad this boy certainly has a shot on him. Blink and you'll miss him.

15. Lewis "Lewboi" West - loves getting past people and cutting inside. Trouble is he will want to pass the same player three or four times.
