Ashford Town v Tonbridge Angels
Saturday, 21 January, 2006
Ryman League Division One
On Saturday, The Angels travel to Homelands to take on struggling Kent rivals Ashford Town. Tonbridge can approach the game in confident mood as they’ve picked up three victories in their last three meetings with our hosts. ‘The Nuts & Bolts’ currently sit right the way down in 21st position, just two points from safety and three from the bottom of the table. They’ve only won four games all season. Since a remarkable result against Dover Athletic which saw them pick up three points following a 3-2 win, they have lost their previous two outings. Met Police defeated them 2-1 whilst Whyteleafe again edged them out by the single goal last weekend.

Our opponents were beaten by 3-0 by Windsor & Eton in this seasons FA Cup, after knocking out Kent League side Slade Green. Wembley surprisingly dispatched them from The Westview Cup whilst two defeats to Ryman Premier outfit Bromley denied them glory in The FA Trophy and Kent Senior Cup.

STAR MAN – Richard Boorman
This 18 year-old midfielder really has been a revelation at Ashford since arriving from Gillingham’s Youth Academy in the summer. Also previously with Arsenal’s Youth Academy. Scored four goals in all competitions this season.
