Tonbridge Angels v Cray Wanderers
Boxing Day, 26 December, 2005
Ryman League Division One
On Boxing Day, The Blues host Kent neighbours Cray Wanderers in what will be only the ninth ever meeting between the two sides. The Angels boast a reasonably good record against ‘The Ambers’, having scored a huge 17 goals and conceding just the solitary goal in just the previous four fixtures, all coming in The Winstonlead Kent League over a decade ago. Our hosts currently lie in 12th position, despite leading the table for a while at the beginning of the campaign. They are unbeaten in their previous five league games but were recently defeated by Dartford 3-1 in Kent Senior Cup. Kingstonian and Grays Athletic dumped them out of FA Trophy and FA Cup respectively this season. With four quality front men in Main, Power, Bremner and Abbott, the Angels rearguard will no doubt have to be as alert as ever to thwart an attack that has scored nearly 50 goals already during this campaign.

STAR MAN – Gary Abbott (Striker – Aged 40). One of the most prolific goalscorers in Non-League football. Former England semi-professional and Golden Boot winner Gary can list a host of former clubs including Welling United, Aldershot, Barnet, Enfield, Slough and Chesham. Joined the Wands from Braintree Town in the summer.
