On Saturday, ‘The Blues’ make the relatively short journey to Surrey to face Walton Casuals. Surprisingly, this is the very first time the two sides have met in any competition. Our hosts currently lie towards the bottom end of the table, having won only three of their previous fourteen league fixtures. They are on somewhat of a slump currently, having lost their previous three games. They have had an absolute nightmare season in the cup competitions, exiting all of them in the very first round. Three Bridges defeated them in FA Cup Preliminary Round, whilst Harlow Town and Tooting & Mitcham Utd were their conquerors in FA Trophy and Westview Cup respectively.
Star Man – Craig Carley (Midfielder, age 21) – Joined Walton Casuals from AFC Wimbledon during 2002/03 season. Craig was The Non-League Paper’s Step 5 Player of the Year last season and was selected to represent an FA XI to celebrate Jersey FA last May. Wide player with lots of pace and a work rate second to none. Last seasons top goalscorer with 29 goals from wide midfield, including some spectacular goals.
