Tonbridge Angels v Horsham
Saturday, 5 November, 2005
Ryman League Division One
On Saturday, ‘The Blues’ host Sussex outfit Horsham at Longmead, for the second time already this season. The Angels are going through a poor run of form as of late, recently suffering consecutive losses at the hands of Leatherhead and Whyteleafe. Our visitors also lost in their previous fixture, surprisingly going down 1-0 at Fleet Town. The two sides have met only five times before; none of which have come in league action. Tonbridge have won two of the three previous FA Cup meetings whilst the two clubs have met twice FA Trophy, winning one apiece. The two sides met in August where the Angels were victorious 3-1 thanks to goals from Lee Carey, Leroy Huggins and Tony Dolby. ‘The Hornets’ lie third in the table, just a single point behind us, having played an extra game. In The FA Trophy, a rejuvenated Chelmsford City outfit dumped Horsham out of this season’s competition, winning by a comfortable 6-0 margin.

Star Man – John Westcott – Played 46 games for Brighton and Hove Albion before moving onto have brief spells at Bognor Regis and Sutton. He moved on to Eastbourne Borough in 2000, making 173 appearances and scoring 21 goals in his four years there. Won Horsham’s Player of the Year Award last season.
