On Tuesday, ‘The Blues’ host Whyteleafe at Longmead. The Angels will undoubtedly be looking to bounce back from their awful performance at the weekend, where they were outplayed by an impressive Leatherhead outfit. Our visitors fared slightly better in their previous fixture, gaining a point from what sounded like a highly entertaining game against Cray Wanderers, the eventual scoreline finishing at 3-3. We boast a 100% record against our forthcoming league opponents, winning the only previous encounter 2-0 in an F.A. Cup 2nd Qualifying Round tie back in the 1990-91 season thanks to goals from Lee Thompson and Neil Emblen. ‘The Leafe’ currently lie in 15th position, and have not won in their last six games. In this season’s FA Cup competition, Whyteleafe failed at the first hurdle, being dumped out by Ashford Town (Middx). They also exited The FA Trophy at the first round stage, losing to Kent outfit Folkestone Invicta. The tie finished 1-1 at Church Road before a late Invicta winner saw them scrape through 2-1.
Star Man – Andy Martin - A former U-21 Welsh International while at Crystal Palace, this strong and physical boasts Sutton United, AFC Wimbledon and Dulwich Hamlet as his former clubs.
