Dover Athletic v Tonbridge Angels
Tuesday, 25 October, 2005
Ryman League Division One
On Tuesday evening, the Angels travel to ‘The Crabble’ to face Dover Athletic in what is already being billed as the biggest game of the season. The two sides have met on countless occasions, with the last coming in April last season where Tonbridge won that memorable relegation battle 3-2 thanks to a missed, then retaken and scored, penalty in injury time by Nick Barnes.

‘The Whites’ have begun the new campaign in excellent fashion and currently lie in 2nd position, two points behind the Angels with a game in hand. They have lost only one fixture out of nine this season, against Tooting & Mitcham by a 2-0 scoreline. They haven’t fared so well in the cup competitions this season, having lost to Chelmsford City in The FA Cup and Dartford last week in The FA Trophy. Tonbridge have a fully fit squad to choose from as Dover have to contend with several key injuries including Craig Cloke, Shane Hamshare and Daniel Braithwaite. The Crabble will certainly not be for the faint hearted on Tuesday as fierce rivalries between the two sides are renewed.
