Paul Emblen signs for Tonbridge
The Angels have made their second big move in as many weeks by signing former Charlton and Wycombe midfielder Paul Emblen.
Emblen, son of former Angels manager Phil, last played for Tonbridge in 1997 after a four year spell in the first team, having graduated through the ranks of the Longmead youth system. He left in May 1997 after signing for Charlton Athletic for £7,500.
Emblen has since spent four seasons at Wycombe Wanderers, scoring four goals in 80 appearances, but since recovering from bad injuries was released on a free transfer in the summer.
A victim of the ITV Digital crisis, Emblen has found it difficult to find a new club, despite trials at Swindon, Oxford and Margate. Paul has therefore agreed to rejoin the Angels on a "week-by-week" deal, in which Tonbridge will have no contractual hold on the player should a bigger club become interested in signing him.
Emblen is expected to start tomorrow's game against Newport IOW, coming into the side in place of Wade Falana who pulled a hamstring in Tuesday night's game against Eastbourne.
Lloyd Hume and Mark Greatorex also suffered injuries on Tuesday and are unlikely to play tomorrow, which should mean recalls to the side for Nick Barnes and Mike Azzopardi. Walker's only other selection dilemma will be between Scott Saunders and Ryan Briggs.
