Full update to follow but the statistics and league table have been updated.
Thursday, 8 December, 2005: Bashley match re-arranged
The home game with Bashley, originally scheduled for 26 November but replaced by the East Thurrock FA Trophy match, has been rescheduled for Tuesday, 17 January.
The East Thurrock match report has now been added, click here.
Tonbridge Angels were knocked out of the FA Trophy last night by Ryman Premier side East Thurrock United 3-0. The defeat means the Angels have missed out on the plum First Round tie at home to Gravesend & Northfleet. On a pitch on which the phrase 'badly-prepared' would be an understatement (see below), the Angels more than matched their opponents but the home side took the lead through Danny Harris. A monumental refereeing error in only booking 'last man' Garry Wooton for his foul on the goal-bound Ray Powell denied the Angels a solid chance of an equaliser, and the home side went on to clinch a flattering 3-0 victory.
However we move on swiftly to 'concentrate on the league' starting with a trip to Hastings United this Saturday, followed by home games against two struggling sides, Burgess Hill Town and Corinthian Casuals.
Saturday, 3 December, 2005: Fraser Logan to make Angels debut at Tooting
New signing Fraser Logan will make his debut today at in-form Tooting & Mitcham United. Logan signed from Kent rivals Bromley on Wednesday and was a former professional with Kilmarnock. Logan is described by Tony Dolby as being able to fill any of the front six positions although it is believed he will either make his debut on the left-wing or behind the front two strikers.
With Nick Barnes, Luke Piscina, Loui Fazakerley, Leroy Huggins, Ray Powell and the new signing all available against the league's top scorers there could be a high-scoring match in prospect today. Tony Dolby and Jay May are both suspended, with May also missing Tuesday's FA Trophy replay and the trip to Hastings United next Saturday.
