My view on this:
I think the paper was short on news (as usual) and thought they'd make something of it. Why the club went public on it I do not know.
There is a problem sometimes with indecent chanting being heard by young children as at all grounds and individuals who shout out the 'c' and 'w' word at the top of their voices which can be heard in the side areas. This will inevitably put off families from attending who don't consider this normal behaviour.
Its a small club, Nick and A nother should speak to individuals directly and if the individuals don't like it and persist they should be ejected. I don't see whats stopping the club, its private property and therefore if the ground rules are breached the guilty party can be asked to leave or ejected using reasonable force if necessary. Same applies in night clubs. The reasonable force is covered by common law and legislation .
There is also the problem of players language (as at all clubs) which can only be dealt with by the officials. A player can be cautioned for using foul and abusive language .
So that I'm not labelled a hypocrite, I do swear but like others keep it under control or use alternatives...it isn't difficult.
I did take Gany Junior to Sevenoaks Town FC a couple of times and don't anymore due to the language from the players.
So IMHO the behaviour of a small minority should be dealt with for the greater good of the rest of us. And the players and manager reminded of their responsibilities. I would imagine there will be a Police presence at the Dover game which will unfortunately cost the club money but could actually sort afew people out! Sign of the times I suppose.

In reply to Florida Angel, yes its a society thing in that these words (centuries old as they are) seem to be used far more frequently than ever.
But I'd like to say thanks re the attempt to avoid it in the chanting. On a humourous note my 8 year old son thinks that you're telling the ref to 'wake up! wake up! wake up! (Long may that continue). There you go, there's the alternative ! Oh okay maybe not! Lets all sing from the same song sheet and just get behind the team (excuse play on words) tomorrow night.

Hi re this swearing biz. I just like to bang my drum and sing along with the Barmy Army. Without the hardcore faction revving the lads up everyone else around us seem to be mute and deaf. Much better tonight against Billericay.
Keep it up Barmy Army. Without us it would be like attending a Tea Dance at the Savoy.
Come on you Angels
