After all the whinging about Ronaldo, yesterday's antics take the piss. Berbatov is flown to Manchester to speak to City after Spurs accepted a bid, so Ferguson and Gill turn up and bundle him into a car for a medical, without getting permission to talk to him!!! Fking disgrace.  tickedoff

Did wonder how long it would be... 2funny

Facts:-
Player didn't want to stay at Spurs.
Player wanted to go to United, not City.
United wanted the player.

Not alot anyone else can do about it?

Irrelevant. Real Madrid didn't put in an offer and as far as I'm aware Berbatov only wanted to go to Old Trafford.

You managed to forget/avoid the most glaring fact of all: he was on contract with Tottenham and they hadn't given permission to speak to United. It shouldn't matter what Berbatov wants - he signed a contract, therefore he is Tottenham's player until THEY agree to sell. Shame they didn't just dig in and let him rot in the reserves rather than be bullied into a sale.

Even worse, as part of the deal Spurs have been bribed not to make a 'tapping up' complaint - an admission of guilt or what?

Hopefully the FA will finally grow some testicles and act on the overwhelming evidence. Anything less than a transfer ban and points deduction would be outrageous.

If you have a half-decent lawyer most contracts are not worth the paper they are written on. Football contracts seem to be 90% in favour of the player and even if they are not they can ride roughshod over them.
