For once I agree with Hitman! Grin idiot2

Jay May was probably third or fourth choice striker at the time - what were the options we had... keep hold of him for 3 years waiting for him to finally fulfil his potential (I still don't think he's that good...!!)?? Crazy.

In Mikey's next interview with the manager, it would be interesting to hear Tommy's views on Bealesy - the seriousness of his injury, where he thinks he'll be playing next season, what would happen if he were to want to return etc etc. Afro

Don't think Tommy would like it that much.
He made it very clear to me that when filming training I can only film certain bits of training as he doesnt want anyone to see the others.

But then if its a Tonbridge fan watching then it wont matter much its the fact he doesnt want other teams/managers knowing about the patterns of play, set pieces etc we are practicing.

If you really wanna watch gaz come down with me this week. Can get that drink off Worgs  Grin

I'll start by nitpicking - Jay was only with Dartford for two seasons.

The first of those he would have made a great partner for Main when we were struggling to field a regular number 9 - Martin, Power, Hilaire (any more???) - and if not first choice would have been happy to wait for his opportunity.

To suggest we release every player who has yet to fulfil his potential is ludicrous, unless you are suggesting we disband the Reserve Team and all of the youth teams. Jay was only 19 when he left - younger than Heath and Cramp who are of course still here, potential unfulfilled. Presumably we should have also released Beales in 2002.. or Paul Emblen in 1994......?

May has clearly made a massive impact at Dartford, so much so that Yeovil Town offered him a deal (obviously they saw something Gazza hasn't) - surely ending any debate over whether he would have been worth holding on to. Another Kedwell - as forecast two years ago on this forum.

If it's taking place in a public area and you really have nothing better to do, then yes.  Afro

I read that it was something to do with travel, and the pay wasn't enough to give up his job, so he preferred to stay local.

this is more like it, 2 months of nothing then a bit of a debate

how happy would jay have been playing in the reserves for 2 years , while old cockface was still in charge, it made sense to go elsewhere, it may as well have been sittingbourne or chatham or ashford, anywhere but the reserves or the bench.
it's not like we are man utd and hold some great attraction for players, they want to play, it's not like we were winning things , and the chance to be part of a title winning side were on offer if he did stay, people  have free will and they can go and play wherever they want
all i have to say about the reserves is you need 11 players and that you can't start a game without the 11 , so it doesn't mean you have 11 good players, and i can see how it would be slightly frustrating playing with 5 or 6 carthorses every game , so in hindsight he made the best decision for himself, and its worked out pretty well for him ( with his limited ability ) i'm agreeing with gazza here
