There was no contact, Bealesy himself said so after the game (it was Hendon)

Also he was in light training with the Reserves at the end of the season so presumably it is a recurrence of the same injury.

Shame for Bealesy, he deserves to be playing at a higher level IMO. The impression I've got from reading this thread is that the injury is much more serious than people are letting on? Could it be career threatening? Embarrassed

Presumably Legge was brought in as a direct replacement for JB so even if he wasn't to go elsewhere, someone would have to leave to make room in the budget.

So we let another young central defender leave and keep one who has injury problems.
Hardly logical.
We have a history of letting youngsters of this type go.

Look at our present manager for an example who played for us at the tender age of 16 and went on to play many games against us often being on the winning side.

If Beales does stay and I for one sincerely hope he will, every effort should be made to keep Donna's as he is an improving player who showed great promise last season.

Agreed, Donner's was outstanding towards the end of the season and will only improve with age, remember he's still in his early 20's!

Can you imagine if a fully-fit Bealesy stayed with us? Go with three at the back? Smiley

Spot on, does this mean I can get on my Jay May soapbox again.  knuppel2 knuppel2

Wilfort and Starkey would be my favourites to go, if room in the budget had to be found for Beales. Or Glover, unless he can play at right-back...

Starkey and Glover are both on contract until the end of the 2008-09 season.

Gloves must be able to play in his best position i.e. midfield to show his best and it would be sad if this was not the case.
Unfortunately Tommy has set up his squad in such a way that it will now be very difficult for the club to retain Beales unless he is perfectly fit.
We will be short of cover in midfield if we let Glove's go just as we will be short of cover at the back if we let Wilfort go.
I really do not see releasing Starkey as a way forward considering that his age and undoubted potential.
Only the board can answer these difficult questions.

the problem is in nick and garys hands, they are the ones sorting out the clubs player budget, only if beales is ok to play then we should do are best to keep him, donovan looks half the player when beales is not holding his hand

In an interview Tommy told me the other week...

"ive used my budget.. but if were up there fighting it out for promotion Nick and Garry will support me with money for one more player..."
or someting along those lines...

Could use that just early? lol
