Another new rule

This one relates to the FA Cup (not sure if it also applies to the FA Trophy)

But all teams will be allowed a seven man bench during FA Cup fixtures to choose their 3 substitutes from, instead of the usual 5.

all it means is 2 more players having a wasted day, more than likely reserve players who would be better off playing for the ressies than sitting on the bench all afternoon.

Tommy is unlikely to use all seven, he rarely bothered to use all five for league games last season. What it does mean is that we ought to be taking advantage of the opportunity to field a substitute goalkeeper for these games - you never know when they might be needed.

I am guessing the rule applies to FA Trophy, as the increase from 3 to 5 substitutes a few years ago was applied to both.
