New rule for Ryman League
« on: Wednesday, 02 July, 2008, 18:52.55 »

The League has agreed a new three year contract with Chryso for the provision of the Aura Pro V football to be used in all Ryman matches. As part of the new contract, Clubs are required to use a white based ball during the period August to November and from March to the end of the season. During the period December to February, a yellow based ball must be used.

Odds on us getting thick snow in November now?

Also all participants and spectators are to be notified of the number of minutes of added time to be played at both the end of the first half and at the end of the game. This will be carried out by a member of the home team holding up the appropriate substitute board and by announcement over the tannoy system.

It would have been the same amount of injury time regardless of whether a board was shown or not?

At Hendon we were just unproffesional. If we had any sense we would never have conceded 3 goals in 2 minutes. A change of management may have helped!!

adds to the excitement not knowing how much injury time is left
the game works as it is, we don't need special balls and time added on info to jazz it up
next season there will be no tackling
and the season after you can only kick with your right foot
then cheerleaders ( fat ones )
where is this all heading

who decides how much time is added on? i guess its the ref but then how will he communicate this to a member of the home teams bench who then displays the board?

i always thought the electronic boards at the higher levels were to tell the ref how much time to add on.

maybe the linesman on that side tells the person with the boards

The referee has always decided upon the amount of added time to be played, never the fourth official, it is a law of the game. The referee decides then signals to the home bench, it will be up to them to decide how they will get the signal across whether he runs across and tells them or puts up so many fingers etc.

At least it will put a stop to the chance of ref's playing until someone scores a winner, which some you could accuse of, but then you never know how many minutes they had initially planned to play. At least now we can safely say if a board goes up syaing 2 minutes of added time and suddenly they play 4 and one team scores a winner in the fourth then..?
