Now that the season has drawn to an end, here is the news from this part of the world.
We had one of our two teams (Lowestoft) make it to the Vase final, where they lost out to Needham Market's conquerors, Kirkham & Wesham.
Needham had to win their last game of the season to win the league. In the end they lost 4-0 to eventual league winners Soham Town Rangers, who have now been promoted. Needham have played a grand total of 70 games this year in all competitions. Premier League managers please note - this is the price of success, so stop whining about fixture congestion.
Now for the whingeing.
In their wisdom, the powers that be have moved AFC Sudbury, Bury Town and Soham from Ryman 1 North to Southern League Midland for next season. Listening to the radio this evening, the clubs knew nothing about this move until 10pm yesterday evening, and are understandably a little upset. Bury reckon on an extra 600 miles of travel, Sudbury will be similar, and they are not looking forward to trips to Bromsgrove and Sutton Coldfield.

Ryman league have nothing on there site yet, so I can't say if there are any teams that would be better off swapping with Suffolk clubs and moving to the SL.
My gripes:
1) There will be little or no chance of me seeing the Angels in this part of the world next season.
2) Whatever happened to the old idea of reducing travel for the smaller clubs? I'm sure the local clubs would rather spend less time and money travelling around Essex and the northern home counties than making long trips in the general direction of Birmingham and Luton.
3) From what I have heard on the radio this has been done with no consultation with the clubs, and just presented to them as a done deal. The league AGMs next month could be interesting.
4) Why is the Ryman website always so bloody slow at posting any information. Even the scores on a saturday afternoon are the last ones to be posted.
