tonight
« on: Saturday, 10 May, 2008, 15:50.09 »

can we just forget the bickering and have a celebration of a good year, the drinks are on Gaz, mines  a creme de menthe frappe (with umbrella and cherry) Chardonnay for  Gloves and a  nipple tickler for Rouse. Jane will be welcoming all comers (literally) Razor and Kinchy are bouncing and Bealsey is in for some stick about Bristol titties sorry Rovers.

In charge of PR Mr Sullivan, karaoke Westie and fraser will wing it (gettit) and Rookie will turn his back on us (or the goal) ---also interesting to see if any new faces appear.

Cheers hic

thoroughly enjoyable evening, started off with some words about Jack Maddams and the sad loss, again a very dignified speech by Roger coupled with some presentations andd the announcement that the North stand will be named after Jack from the start of next season.

Trophies given out to the young lads (somehow Mickey Collins was convinced he was under 18 of the year ) and the ressies thenon to the first team many of whom turned up.

Very positive messages from Nick and Tommy -really get the feeling the club is going places. Chatted to a few players including a couple of departees- Sir Mick is off to croydon as he wants to keep playing, but obvioulsy loves the club. Top man and was knocking back gin and chronics large style (as was his very lovely wife). A second player -also sadly on his way out which was a bit of a shock- name will be announced next week along we are told with up to 4 new signings.

going back to Mickey- a well respected member of the coaching staff couldnt speak highly enough of him and what he has done since he arrived, apparently he truly is a gaint in the changing rooms and could -according to said un-named coach 'one day return to the club to manage'.

Many highlights of the evening ;
Donners and his good lady argiung about which one was under the thumb- think JD lost that one.
Kirk Watts sweating his socks off in the heat (the first time he has ever broken sweat according to Mickey)
Rouse Lovell turning up in his grandads jumper.
Charlie Cole deservedly winning clubman of the year.
Stoz doing his beales and Rook impersonations by collecting every trophy on theri behalf  (although he did think he won one himself )
Colin Fry getting stuck in to the drink despite his gout.
matty L getting pissed
Stoz getting even drunker
Nick Sullivans Long John Silver impersonation ( the quote "its 50p to sit down " getting a caustic retort)
Tommy W guaranteeing the title the FA Cup and the Trophy ( or was that too much beer ?)
Stoz in deep convo with the manager and then on the phone to 'an associate' , another new signing Huh??
Rouse getting drunker
JD and Turbo trying to work out who was driving and how they could leave Stoz behind.

with that I left but I think one or two more sherberts may have been sunk.

6 weeks to training starts, some nice frinedlies coming up and another tour by the sound of it............................................

Exciting times as an Angel... Cheesy

Management sign a new 2-year deal.
Major ground improvements over the Summer.
3 or 4 decent signings to be announced next week.
