Not a good night for the boys who lost this RYL match 5-1 away to Staines Town.
We went behind after 16 minutes when a defensive error led to the Staines opening goal.
We began to play better towards the second half of the first half but an injury to Matt Knight didn't help our cause. Joe Adams replaced Knight and did well on his Ryman debut.
We equalised in the 44 minute when Alex Daly did well on the right and placed a perfect pass to the alert Charlie Sharman who finished well from close range.
Sonny Miles replaced Luke Blewdon at half time, who left the field with a possible broken arm, another forced change.
Not sure what happenend in the second half, another error led to Staines leading after just 2 minutes and this was followed by their third on 51 minutes.
The rest as they say is history. The boys look tired and couldn't compete with a well organised Staines side. Charlie Sharman was replaced by Anthus Davis on 70 minutes.
It's been a tough season, both physically and mentally and the boys have done well in what has turned out to be a tough first year in the Ryman Youth League.
Another game Friday night, home to Burgess Hill 7.45 kick off
Team: Busby, Rich, Hampson, Poynter, Humphreys, Daly, Brooke, Blewdon (Miles 45), Willoughby, Sharman (Davis 70), Knight (Adams 25)
Goal: Charlie Sharman 44 Booked: Davis
