Angels Res 5 Walton Casuals 4
What an eventfull game this turned out to be with Andy Constable grabbing four goals, the fifth in the last seconds of this home Suburban League match played at Walton Casuals ground.
We started the first half well and could have taken the lead with good chances for Andy Constable, Alex Rich and a powerfull drive from Matt Newman.
Unfortunately on 30 minutes Bobby Dixey was stretchered off with an injury to his ankle, luckily enough not as bad as first thought, he was replaced by Ashley Dann.
We broke the deadlock on what should have been the end of the half on 45 minutes when Constable put the ball under the Walton keepers body after a goal mouth scramble.
Because of the injury to Dixey the referee played extra time and in that time we had a mad few minutes and conceded two comical goals to go into the break 2-1 down.
The second half started much as the first and within 8 minutes of the restart Matt Cornhill's run down the right wing half the length of the pitch, he pulled back a perfect pass to Ashley Dann who finished well to make it 2-2.
Once again another mad 10 minutes and some sloppy defending and we were 4-2 down with 20 minutes to go.
Andy Constable to the rescue to make it 4-3, heading in a looping cross from Charlie Dix. Constable then latched onto a long ball beating the keeper with a neat finish, completing a well deserved hatrick.
Paul Butler took a nasty tackle and was the second player to get stretchered off, again not quite as bad as first thought, luckily enough club physio Melvin Slight was there to cope with both injuries. Charlie Sharman replaced the unlucky Butler.
With only seconds left on the clock Andy Constable hit the winner and his fourth in what was a remarkable comeback and remarkable match.
The effort shown by the players after being 4-2 was brilliant, not only to get it back to 4-4 but to go on and take all three points.
Hopefully we can take this on now to our last game on Tuesday night at home to Chipstead and look forward to your support at Longmead.
