However the bit that baffles me is... people who are real angels supporters... there whatever the weather and every game.. but have a CHOICE to sit down or not..

They dont have to sit down and if they are TRUE supporters of the Angels they will continue to come and support but just make do with standing.

Mike I find your remarks insulting. Who are you to say who are real Angel supporters?! I have been following the Angels since 1996. The last few years I have missed only a handful of matches home and away.
I always buy a programme and most times a golden goal also I have gold bond numbers. I attend some of the quiz nights - all that I opt to do to support my club.

I'm not saying if I had to pay an extra 50p I wouldn't come but the fact my husband and I will be paying an extra £4 or £8 per week if there is a Tuesday night match, then being asked to pay to sit down is a bit much.

I don't care if other clubs charge to sit down. I've always thought of our club as being welcoming to opposition fans and charging for a seat doesn't go along with this ethos.

I sit down sometimes at the mead!..tbh if its a big game you stand no chance of getting a seat..unless you are there very early..i have noticed that the same people sit in the same seat ..i sat in the seated area v hornchurch..and thinking back most were the older fans and ones with Kids. You also get a good amount of away fans in the seated area at the moment, there not wearing colours and most wouldnt know who they supported apart from the odd tut !

Have a voucher in the programme for a free seat.

Or sell a seated season ticket.

Just charge away fans.(if you can spot them).

if 500 to 600 seats are really going in ..most will be empty unless its a big game say dons, dover, darts mudscum or one that the clubs knows the crowd will be biggish, then charge the quid .

Also people like Charlie and Mike who I don't know but obviously put in alot of graft and sacrifice their own time to help run the club to provide entertainment for our leisure time. Do those people who are moaning about this give any of their time to the club or would be prepared to I wonder.

In reply to Dan it looks like my post has entertained you.......and you didn't have to pay extra !:D Like you said earlier we've all got an opinion. You obviously think yours is the important one. Don't get personal.

Back on track with the ground improvements!

This is excellent news..

Best thing to bring new fans in to watch the angels apart from a winning team is a nice stadium.

Let's be realistic please. Messrs Sullivan & Pass have put in a lot of time, effort & money into the club to help it progress but we can't expect them to do and pay for everything.

A £2 increase in the admission is only 5-6% when annualised over four years which is line with underlying inflation (measured the old way not Gordon Brown's new way). An extra £2 a couple of doxzen times a year will not break the bank and students / pensioners who might have less money get the concessionary admission.

Paying a small premium to sit down is hardly unreasonable, in other businesses (planes, trains, cinemas, theatres, hotels) people have to pay a huge premium to receive greater comfort so why should football be different. Also we don't know what the exact plans are, it may be that pensioners and people with medical problems will continue to be allowed to sit for free.

But if you are really worried about the extra £2 you could try not drinking 2/3 of a pint of beer, or not smoking 1/3 of a packet of fags, or not eating half a sandwich, or not getting a bus from the station to the castle, or not parking your car for a couple of hours to raise the money.

If you want things to get better then you should expect to pay for it as well.

I agree 100% sizeable h. Pensioners and people with disabilities get a sizeable (pardon the pun) entry discount anyway so if they want to or need to sit they have already been compensated. It's maybe not an ideal system but at least it shows the club are thinking of those people.

in truth i really dont care about the seating price, i dont sit, i cant see why people are whinging allready, Nick and Gary are not sadist cripple-haters, they will take into consideration  the needs of any fan that comes to longmead with a disability, i would imagine the easiest way would be to give the steward his 'own disecretion' to allow people who he feels would medically benefit from seating to allow without charge.

Mike, i also think posting this infromation, whilst your ethos was correct in keeping us peasent fans up-to date-and i thank you for that, was a tad pre-mature,

as regards to the entrance fee being increased, i know that the money would go to the club, so i dont really care that its gone up a couple of quid. I usually just buy a proramme anyway so i dont have the coins, or just get a burger at half time.

there ya go. ive said my bit, quite measured for my usual drabble i think  uglystupid2
