You must have 500 seats to gain the B grading which is what's required for Conf South.

So they decided to just fill the whole stand as 500 would have nearly filled it.

Fair enough.
Hope plenty of that budget will be spent on the pitch. Really hindered our style of play.

Until halfway through this season, I always sat. Apart from at away grounds where they charge you to sit.

It is a 120mile round trip for me to come and watch the Angel's at Longmead but it is my choice. It is my choice to pay to enter, it is my choice to buy or not buy a programme and also golden goal and I thought I had the choice whether to sit or stand. Obviously I still do, but to be forced to pay just so I can sit down to watch my team without having smoke blown in my face is quite annoying. Since I've stood, I have often entered the seating area to talk to friends at half time and I assume that would be out of the question in future.

Not all who sit in the stands are OAPs or kids but they may be on low incomes and yes I think that to pay to sit is unfair.

Grounds where they charge to sit (to my knowledge):

Maidstone
Folkestone
AFCW
Billericay
Chelmsford I think
(thought there were more but can't remember..)

and therein lies my point, our fans are already being charged more to sit at these grounds and could be a factor to why they do not attend.

People who sit in the stands more regularly will be able to report better, ali_p, Asa, Daryl, etc. But I doubt they will be pleased to hear this.

There is alot of work being done to the pitch in close season. Most notably the goal mouthes are being completely ripped out and re-laid.

I appreciate that, if 500 seats are required to advance the club to a higher level when promotion is delivered, then that's a matter of fact. As i dislike sitting to watch football I will continue to stand, but it's a pity that some terracing can't be put on the clubhouse side. Since the removal of the sleepers (yes I know it had to be done) viewing on this side is very restricted unless you stand at the extreme ends of the pitch.

the seated stand has a lot more people between 16 and 65 years of age than some of the previous posters on here seem to suggest, a good 45% i'd say.

a fair number of these are away supporters, especially for the bigger games this season like wimbledon and chelmsford.  we always moan when having to pay extra to sit in other grounds' seated areas so i would imagine away fans will complain about us.  if enough people moan about it on the isthmian forum then people wont bother travelling to longmead, with the increasing cost of petrol and an increase in ticket prices we'd be lucky if any away fans from the likes of hornchurch, billaricay and ashford (mdx) come at all.

I've often said that following a team is an expensive hobby, and i will continue to go as long as my finances allow.  plus i can see why prices need to go up to cover increased costs at the club, but to increase it for some people by £3 is a little extreme.

If entry was £9 and then sitting in the stand was an extra pound people wouldn't mind so much, as they can get it all for a tenner.

True Ali, however...
you say, as long as my finances allow...

And ok i appreciate some people have to sit down...

however people like yourselvs Ali who CHOOSE to sit .. could stand...

With the finances allow thing... Are you saying if you could only afford a tenner a game... you'd rather not watch the Angels than stand?

This isn't an us versus you thing Mike, we are just expressing an opinion.

I feel quite strongly about paying to sit, anywhere. It's not about helping or not helping the club. But it is THEY who want to improve the seating so maybe that should come out of whoever's pocket then add 25p to the gate to pay for another part of the ground improvements until it is paid for. Why should the sitters have to pay for their seats while standers stand for free? Why are they discriminated against?

Makes no sense to me
