Help - Volunteers

For this new website, im trying to get more people involved, meaning the workload is spread over several people.
I don't have time to do it all and maintain the website / server / database. So below are some jobs that would help alot if someone volunteered to do. Someone can volunteer to do as many as they want providing they can keep up with doing them. Or just one per person i dont mind.

Match Previews
Home Match Reports
Away Match Reports
Reserve team match reports (including getting team line ups and substitutes)
Under 18s KYL/RYL match reports (including getting team line ups and subs)

For all reports/articles/previews the volunteer has to have a decent level of writing but more importantly know how to use the spell check button and have good grammar when writing and also be able to email them to me pretty quickly. (Not a dig at jack or angel boi before they start but theres no point me asking for volunteers if i then have to spend time checking their work every time)

If I think of anymore I'll post them up

if i get my season ticket next season mate ile most probs be going to alot more ressie matches, so might be able to help you out with them

i can do stats and stuff as i am keeping them up to date on tafconline, just give me the nod

No harm in asking for volunteers Mike as long as you are running the site entirely voluntarily / benefit-free. Huh

Most reserve and under 18 match reports are already posted on the forum, so speak to the writer of those (Mikel or kenb) and I'm sure they will also be able to go on the official site as well as in the match programmes.

Charlie Cole keeps a record of starting line-ups for the first team, reserves and under 18s. He's happy to provide this information if you ask for it! As I have done on many occasions this year when compiling the programme statistics.

The only thing that is really lacking is match reports for first team games. We were unable to find a writer to do these for the programme this season. Anyone willing to step up to the plate must have an excellent grasp of grammar and be able to provide a fair summary of games (reporters from the Southend Evening Echo need not apply!)

Other than that, the information is all there if you are willing to ask for it. (This applies for anyone) Afro

I am more than willing to grammar/spell check proof-read any match reports.

I know they have to be done quite quickly so mistakes are easy to make, but I'm happy to check. I'm online most of the day in the week so can respond by email promtly.

Dont know what you are suggesting by that Dan, but ive only ever got a free season ticket/press pass, having done the website for the past 5 years and launched services like liveangels out of my own pocket...

As for the other things, I lost charlies email address long ago, could you forward that on with the PDFs?? Wink

And Aaron, your most welcome to do stats, maybe you and AngelBoi can do it joint? As theres first, reserve and two under 18s to keep up to date. Hes done an amzaing job the last few days.
However its done in a completely different way to how you do it, as im guessing you sort of type yours onto the page into tables?

This is done via a database so you enter match results and line ups and then the rest of the stats are updated.

Well seeing as that wont be until the end of next season most likely no need to worry about that yet is there.

and after many months of work setting up databases and content management system coding, the website is now ready in that it could be updated by anyone, however dumb they are. even you could do it Lee!

So im sure if at some point im completely unable to continue it a group of people like Dan/Aaron/Angelboi for example could pull together with Charlies help to keep it running.
You only really need one person on news one on stats and one on reports
