Away support V Worcester
« on: Monday, 26 September, 2005, 19:08.03 »

Looking at the response from the ChairmanManager on the official site - They want the fans and this is the place to ask for the support as well.....

It seems that the Angels are trying to get the game rearranged so not to clash with England v Austria  in the World Cup Qualifier. It is said that the players will stay the night before at Worcester to give them the best preparation, which is as it should  be.  But, this suggests to me an earlier kick off time - A.M or 12 noon most likely on the same day.

That would mean a huge onus on the fans, though better than a midweek game which would completely decimate the fans.

Remember the World Cup Qualifier will be repeated on the telly. When we watch England play - it is usually a frustrating and lacklustre spectacle. Nothing to compare to the LIVE action of our own FA Cup round with our team playing thier hearts out for us......

What is the chance of the club organising Supporters coaches on the day?

I think you will find it is in hand Jane,

There couls also be a Barmy Army mini bus if the pressure works and the boys burn their tickets for OT

Nice paraphrasing to avoid the copyright issue too !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 Wink

We are all fans Pete. This is a fans forum. Just like you know you can't resist - because you are a true fan.

I think the Official Site is the 'Shop Window' for any outsiders wishing to know about our club and our news. It has to be up to date and relevant for any visitors wishing to know about us. But, the biggest link - and you know it yourself as a fan is through the Fans Forums.

We fans, you included, want to know the opinions and views of the caretakers of our club, i.e the Chairman and Manager. We want it up for discussion on our forum, and any visiting fans can come and join the 'discussions' and enter the 'banter'.

As forums go, you have to concede that ours (for all the fans) is very good. I don't think i know of a bettter one. You only have to trawl to see what i mean.

I know the reasoning behind keeping Managers and Chairmans reports and interviews on the Official Site, but with that argument it does alienate the fans. I think only Stephen McCartney on Kentish Football has 'higher rights of audience' for exclusive interviews really.

Share the goods.....There is no good reason not to.....

Quite agree to some extent, I think if the players are travelling the day before this does give them great preperation however as far as the support is concerned I think a Sunday kick off would be better suited. Biased I know due to the circumstances of already paid £40 for an England ticket and a further £50 for a hotel room in Manchester.

I think the fact remains that most people will want to watch both the Angels and England, and this could be detremental to the support we get. Its a long way to travel for some people and the thought of leaving around 9am for a 2pm kick off and not getting home until 10pm after the England game will possibly put people off.

A comment that may raise a bit of contraversy on the forum but as a proud englishman the Austria game is just as important as I want to be watchimg them in Germany next summer just as much as I want to see the Angels in the 4th round of the FA cup!

I do agree 2BarmyArmy. Sunday would be most suitable, ideal for the footy fan in us. Hopefully it will turn out this way. I know how torn you must be, but if it comes to a saturday (that saturday) kick off - then your support will be missed greatly -hence the pressure  Wink

I think that given the choice between the Angels and England it would be the angels every time.
If anyone read my link earlier about my dream 3rd round draw Chelsea v Tonbridge it would be Tonbridge no problem (sorry Jose).

4th round home to anyone Smiley
