Angels Res 4 Raynes Park 0
« on: Monday, 31 March, 2008, 22:27.27 »

On an emotional night when football took second place to the tragic events of the weekend. After a minutes silence to the memory of Jack Maddams a strong Angels side saw off a poor Raynes Park by 4-0. The first half was totally dominated by the Angels, Micky Collins could have had a hatrick but failed to score despite his tireless running. We opened the scoring when Charlie Dix crossed for Scott Kinch to dive and head the ball into the net after 12 minutes. After half an hour a quick throw from Dix to Carl Rook who was brought down in the box. Rook took the resulting penalty to make it 2-0. On 38 minutes the Rayes Park defender crashed a ball onto the side of his own defender's head, the ball flew back into the net to make it 3-0 at halftime. On 58 minutes Michael Phillips tapped in a Collin's cross, this was after Phillips had taken a ball in the stomach, which winded him on the edge of our box, then ran the length of the pitch to make his goal. Once again a good night for football totally dedicated to the memory of young Jack Maddams who sadly passed away at the weekend. Our thoughts are with all his family at this sad time.
