Since pioneering the formation with my sunday side, and turning us back into a winning team, it has not gone un-noticed that managers from the highest echelons have been queueing up to take on the style of play. It basically solves the problem of having two goalhanging midfielders by placing them further up the field with the support striker, while securing the defences with two holding midfielders. So for Gazza and Jarvo read Gerrard and Babel, or Lampard and Gerrard. Hence Rafa Benitez and Fabio Capello's decisions to follow the Couldridge-template for success.
