A very strong reserve side saw off AFC Wimbledon in this Suburban League Challenge Shield encounter, qualifying us for the next round after coming top in our group. We took the lead after 22 minutes when an Alex Rich free kick accurately found Micky Collins at the far post who finished well with his header. The second half saw us continue to dominate and sloppy Wimbledon defending gifted Carl Rook with a chance which he gratefully placed past the advancing keeper. Our third came when neat play from Alex Rich, who played a one two with Micky Collins, his cross was then bundled in by the following up Rich. A comfortable win on the night as we proved too strong for a spirited AFC Wimbledon. Credit should also go to the reserve players who didn't play tonight but played their part in the previous games to help win the group.
Team: Grant, Starkey, Crane, Wilfort (Bowles 75), Glover, Johnson (Cole 75), Phillips (Dann 80), Newman, Rich, A, Collins, Rook Subs: Dix, Ashmore Booked: Collins, Glover
