I had a look at their web site and there is nothing on there at all ... it's a bit like ours really, but more up-to-date.
Will there be something posted here?

I, along with many others was shocked that our game was called off yesterday and I think you will find that our players who attended a vigorous training session at Longmead after the decision had been made share that view.
Even allowing for the inclement weather we have suffered over the week end I really cannot see any way the game will be called off. This is not January and it is a fact that pitches dry out much faster at this time of the year.
I do believe that the ref who inspected our pitch yesterday was a bit hasty although as I was not there I am not quialified to comment but with the forecast suggesting an improvement i fully expect to be on the train in the morning.

I was down at Longmead at 10 yesterday morning and can confirm the pitch was waterlogged and was unplayable and probably still is now.

We were due to kick off at 3 pm and yes hindsight is a wonderful thing but apart from ourselves and Heybridge you have to look pretty hard to find another game in the area postponed for a waterlogged pitch.
I guess we must have taken the worst of the weather on friday night.

I am still very surprised to be getting these comments about the early postponement of the game of Saturday. We have a procedure that we have to follow when a club thinks that its game is in doubt. Firstly I have to advise the league, they tell me to contact the match referee, who in the case of the Hendon game came from Bognor, so he was unable to travel. I then managed to get one of the Assistant Referees to agree to inspect, which he did at 9.30 a.m. Hendon needed to know by 11.00 a.m, so that they could cancel their coach. The pitch was not too bad in the goalmouths the problems were in the middle of the pitch, and no those areas were still not playable at 1.00 p.m, but improving. The match referee would have arrived at 1.00p.m, and he would have called it off then, because it still was not playable. I am in a very difficult position over postponements, if we have a late inspection the club are criticised for leaving it too late, or if the inspection is done early, people seem to think it may dry out in time! We as a club are following league rules about postponements to the letter.
