21 Sept - TAFC 0 Carshalton Ath 2
A very entertaining game between two well matched sides. After the initial settling down period Angels began to exert some control, so it was against the run of play that Carshalton took the lead in the 26th minute. Angels now pressed forward to equalise but at half time there was no further score. In the second half Angels came out with all guns blazing and launched attack after attack , but somehow the Carshalton defence held firm. It was therefore a 2nd goal for the visitors in 58 minutes that came out of the blue. One sensed that despite all efforts Angels were going to be unlucky and so, in the73rd minute when Angels were awarded a penalty, a sense of hope surfaced only briefly - Scott McEwan unfortunately placed the spot kick over the bar. Now the non stop effort of both sides through the game took its toll, the last 10 minutes petered out as the mist gathered.
