Youth - A message to Parents & Fans
« on: Monday, 19 September, 2005, 22:58.32 »

Taken from the TA official website. Section of interview with Nick Wing (Youth Chairman)

"Lastly, a message to the fans/parents and readers of this interview...

Firstly thanks to all those who come along and support the lads week in week out. To those who can't watch regularly keep an eye on the website for the fixtures, the games are always entertaining. Regarding our ambitions, long term we are trying to strengthen the feeling of belonging to Tonbridge Angels as a club and of being very much part of the local community. We are also trying to get a conveyor belt of local talent playing for our local club. All takes time but each little change gets us nearer
."

As a parent that turns up week in and week out - i try and promote the club and local football. Not everyone enjoys standing at the side of a pitch supporting thier kids and watching a match, but if it don't float your boat atleast you know your son or daughter get good exercise and a sense of belonging - with thier team mates.

It is not the most exciting thought  for a parent to turn up and stand at the edge of a muddy pitch in the middle of winter with a cutting wind threatening to take your ears off! But i find it the most exhillarating experience every week.

The lads gain such a good comaraderie and learn (sometimes the hard way) to respect thier coaches and managers that give up thier own free time for the love of the game.

The boyslike to keep an eye on thier league tables, and match reports though sometimes few and far between are always welcome and appreciated.
