Football manager
« on: Monday, 28 January, 2008, 12:25.50 »

My brother has now got an X box 360 so was considering buying a football manager game. For all you games experts which is the best one out? Also, would like one where you can manage Tonbridge? Sure I have heard they include non league teams these days. Thanks.

fotball manager games generally don't work very well on consoles, i had FM2006 on xbox 360 and it was shocking in comparison to the PC version.

as far as i'm aware you can only manage teams as far down as conference north/south, lower teams are included to play against but not manage

Football Manager 2008 on the PC is the best option. As ali said, they don't work so well on consoles.

FM 2008 allows you to manage in the Conference South but comes with a handy editor so you can move Tonbridge in there (most of our squad is included) or for a more realistic experience just switch all the Ryman Premier clubs into the Conference south.

also, don't try it on an xbox 360 if you don't have it connected to an HD tv, on a normal one all the text is blurry and it doesn't all fit on the screen, plus the colours run into each other making it look a mess.

at least this was my experience with FM2006 until i got a new telly

Thanks for the replies. I think the conclusion is not to go near a management game with a games console.
