Just a thought, but rather than go through all the bother of finding a suitable site, getting planning permission & building a new mega-stadium wouldn't it be easier, quicker and quite possibly cheaper for Roman Abramovich to do a Wealdstone / Ruislip thing and buy ManUre close them down & move Chelsea into Old Trafford?

It also has the advantage that it won't upset the locals in Manchester as much as it has in Ruislip.
