When I was at the new Arsenal ground for a conference & had the tour afterwards they explained that they have a jet engine under the pitch that can be used to aerate it but if looks a bit soggy they can turn it round and use it to drain the pitch.

Don't think that they have that at Anfield yet though.

i can remember liverpool vs arsenal got called off because of waterlogged pitch im not sure if it was last season or the one before carling cup semi-final i think

i doubt they would have improved their drainage because they were expecting to move fairly soon

This game wasn't called off because of a waterlogged pitch. It was due to thick fog. U couldn't seethe other end of the pitch.
