First of all can I apologise for the general anarchy of the forum in recent days. I am temporarily back in full-time employment and therefore have not been able to monitor during the day, coupled with some busy evenings and I have not been so diligent. Jammy has been moderating in my absence but obviously has a life and a job to do and can't be on here all day either.
As this lack of moderation resulted in me taking a lot of flak, both by private e-mail and at the game last night, for not being in control of what other members say.
These reasons and the influx of a lot of new members since Christmas calls for me to make this posting.
In due course I consider posting a full list of forum rules which I expect to be adhered to, and will probably implement some sort of traffic light system (Warning - Temp Ban - Full Ban) against those who continually flout the rules.
However I would prefer not to go down this route so I call for a bit of common sense and general etiquette when posting:
Sniping at other members / personal disagreements - should be kept off the forum at ALL times, no one else wants to hear it, argue in a Private Message, or Instant Messaging, anywhere but the forum basically.
One to one conversations - We don't want to see tidy threads taken over by two members idly chatting - do it in a Private Message please - there are 600 other forum members who won't want to be put off from posting their views.
Mass posting - we welcome new members and their enthusiasm but mass posting WILL be viewed upon as spam. Keep your posts relevant and on topic as often as possible.
Threads - if you are going to veer off topic, start a new thread. Don't start new threads if there is already a thread existing on the same topic, as the moderators will just lock it.
Abuse of players/staff - Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but abuse will not be tolerated.
Hopefully my work situation will continue in which case I will be looking for one or two RESPONSIBLE members to join the moderating team. More on that later.
Most importantly enjoy the forum and use it sensibly.
