Angels v Hastings Plug on BBC Radio Kent
« on: Tuesday, 13 September, 2005, 08:44.05 »

For those that listened to Tamsin Curnow's show on BBC Radio Kent at 09:20 this morning, would have listened to her read out an email from "Stephen."

Basically a woman contacted the radio show and said "cricket has decended to football's level", with regards to players celebrating the way footballers do.

So having listened to such garbage, I sent Tamsin an email, and "advertised" tonight's game at Longmead against Hastings - which she read out.

And here it is:

"With regards to your contributor Pat, I would like to say her views are appaling.

Sport brings out the best in every person in the country, albeit playing, watching or reporting on it.

And it's these moments (winning the Ashes, and the Rugby World Cup) that allows people - who don't even enjoy the ups and downs of playing or watching sport - "jump on the bandwagon" to celebrate and be proud of England's heroes.

Sport is also PASSIONATE - whether you play, watch or report on it - and what I suggest she does is attend tonight's FA Cup first qualifying round (replay between Tonbridge Angels and Hastings United at Longmead Stadium, Darenth Avenue, Tonbridge, before she abuses the game of football, which she noes NOTHING about."

Hopefully this "advert over the airwaves" will bring a few more through the gate, I hope.

COME ON TONBRIDGE!!!

Regards

There was no mention this morning on Radio Kent's sports news bulletins about tonights match, all Gillingham as usual. Well done Stephen for the mention, keep up the good work for local football.

Doubtful claim. Still, nice plug for tonight's game though!
