Phil Basey - help needed

Made a single appearance on the subs bench in a game at Andover in October 1988.

Is this the same Phil Basey that played for Crawley Town, Maidstone, Hillingdon Borough, Tooting and Bromley in the 1970s? If so he would have been about 40 years old by the time of his solitary game under Tommy Sampson.  Huh

Yes, it was.  I can remember him travelling on the coach with us to Andover's old ground near the Fire Station. 

Tommy Sampson also called upon Terry Jessop (goalkeeper) on a couple of occasions, if my memory serves me correctly.

PS: Heard on Meridian Tonight that poor old Tommy has suffered a stroke over the weekend.  Get well soon, Tommy.
