How could you possibly put Matt Hollioake in the MOM Vote? He had an extremely poor game. Agreed though, Ashley Harris was well worth the £8 even if the footy wasn't. Laughing, joking and entertaining us all behind the goal.

Czanna had an average kinda game, not much to do all in all. Dropped a couple of clangers but made up for it with a good one-on-one save after Shawry sold him short. Had no chance with the goal. Hollioake looks to lightweight for this leve. Would rather turn back to his defence rather than have a go at the opposition and moving in a positive forward direction. Bert had a very good game, I thought. Second half much better than first. Crampy and Shawry didn't have the best of games but were up against a strike force that were extremely fast. Did OK I thought. Smudger still looks like he's a little out of sorts after his injury but did well second half and took his goal brilliantly. Was named MOM. Parkesy struggled at times but keeps things ticking over in midfield and looks very composed. Always seems to have that little bit of extra space that makes all the difference. Ollie Miles did well and could have scored with a header. Thought Jon Heath was outstanding first half, charging down the left-wing and putting in some decent crosses. Went bit quiet second period though. Luke was awesome, and in my opinion MOM. Ran rings round everyone, and included some very silky skills. Shame Soccer AM weren't present cos they would have made Showboat easily. Different class. Phil Cramp worked hard and took his goal well from a tight angle. Wazza looked sharp when he came on and should perhaps of grabbed a goal but his effort scraped the bar. Danny Lye did well, getting stuck in as usual. Dobla was quality when he came on and capped a decent showing with an excellent finish, round 3 defenders before chipping the keeper.

At 1-0 to Clapton, I was in absolute shock but as soon as Crampy scored we looked comfortable. Perhaps should have been a lot more than 3. Into the next round and now bring on Dover who just edged Ware 1-0,...... 2funny

MAT HOLLYOAK - Tremendous first half especially. Up and down, finding position, putting crosses in - brilliant tackling and battling. Superb cross into the box 2nd half to set up Smith to head home.  Smiley

Hollyoak is a good player. You don't break into a Ryman Premier Division first team at the age of 17 and have England U-18 Trials the following season if you aint very good. Tonight was just not his night - he was awful.

Dunno who voted for him but someone needs their eyes checking. Maybe the fog was in the way?!  Wink

Luckily i had a front row seat so to speak  Wink I thought he was hot hot hot! Quieter 2nd half but it was down to him that we scored through Smith and you can't knock that  - sometimes i don't know what planet you are on  Cheesy What do you want? Blood?? It seems to me that perfectly good players come in for totally unwarrented critism. When a player is that active on the ball, you only seem to remember the odd mistake - and forget the huge amount of good they do.............. Shocked

Yes, excellent delivery to set up Smudger for the second goal but I'm afraid that's about the only thing decent he did all evening. I've already stated he's a decent player but tonight he just wasn't - fact. I lost count of how many times he miscontrolled a pass and how many times he misplaced a pass. At this level, you cannot afford to do that. Luckily we weren't playing a good team or else he alone would have conceded a couple of goals. Not unwarrented criticism. It is warrented - I'm sure if you went and spoke to Matt, he would be the first to admit he was awful this evening. Yes it's true that the odd mistake sticks in the memory of supporters mor than the amount of good but tonight the amount of good was very little I'm afraid. No doubt he's a decent player and has a bright future ahead of him. We've seen what he's capable of in pre-season and on a couple of occasions last season. He's consistantly brilliant for Ressies and Youth Teams, from what I hear, but tonight wasn't one of his better evenings.
