If the club wants supporters to know anything then surely something should be published on the official site and a link posted here by either Official Website or Florida Angel as they seem to be the one's in the know.

The 'I know something but can't tell you' situations we have had this week are, IMO, damaging to the club as are the similar postings on the Isthmian Forum where the club and it's supporters look foolish. If and when a rumour becomes fact and the club want to release it, then that's the time to say it on the official site. If it isn't fact, don't post it.

I think you are missing the point. Most of us here understand that football clubs and football managers at all levels are looking for new players and sometimes are talking to players about possible moves. Few of these suggested moves actually happen.

To post that Tommy is talking to a quality striker/midfielder/defender/goalkeeper can falsely raise hopes and expectations as those talks may come to nothing. It's therefore better to say nothing until the club can announce that a new signing has been made.

I don't think that people would be "moaning the club havent announced anything for a while and are all wondering what the bloody hell is going on with signings" if nothing had been posted in the first place.

We all want Tommy and the club to succeed but it doesn't help the cause to have rumour and counter rumour on this and other forums. Let the club management get on with their job and we'll make suitable comments as and when new players are signed and/or existing players are released.

thats also a fair poinr SEA  but there are still people coming  on here (as MAtt did 10 mins ago) saying 'whats happening' - you will read Nicks take on it when I get round to typing up the interview we did with him later on today.

That's my point FA - if the rumours hadn't been started then people wouldn't be asking what's going on!

Look forward to reading the interview with Nick later. IMO since Nick has been running the club, there has been more infomation about what's happening than we've ever enjoyed in the past and for me that's far too many years than I care to think about  Smiley

Can't see what this is all about really.
IMO speculation about players increases the interest and subsequently the discussion. So what if every rumoured transfer doesn't come off it is still fascinating to anticipate the changes about to happen.
I reckon it's great trying to work out who may or may not be signing and those who are or are not involved must have a chuckle when we are wide of the mark.
Don't think we should be beating ourselves up over this as we will soon know who Tommy wants.
