The first half was awful and we fully deserved to be behind against a team who did what they had to do as efficiently as their abilities allowed them.
Their centre-half was excellent, as he has been whenever I have seen him, and quite frankly had a well below par Main in his pocket for most of the game.
I have to agree with the earlier post regarding Harris who , after all the build up, has proved to be a major disappointment.
Where do we go from here? Well unless there is a major change of direction at the club I fear relegation. We surely have the strongest squad we could have wished for and yet we cannot buy a result which obviously begs the question about the manager and coaching staff. Not sure myself if we should expect too many changes in that direction though or if it will make any difference.
I hate to go over old ground but I once again ask the question. Has the clubs bad disciplinary record of last season come back to haunt us in that there seems to be a lack of commitment through out the team this season. Could it be that the opposition are taking advantage? Or did we only do well last season because we were cheating.
Either way for me the week has finished with mixed feelings. After the news of another true investor in the club has probably secured our immediate future it seems to me that that future will be a division lower unless we learn some big lessons and quickly.

I too had great hopes at the begining of the season, but playing the wrong players ,playing people out of position, and not doing his job properly inspiring his players I think it's time to change.
Both Dolby and Ruthers should stand down.
But who should we replace them with? Undecided

Never thought we'd make the playoffs at the start to be fair, but wasn't expecting us to be bottom 4.  Grin If we lose Tuesday and \ or next Saturday we may well see a change. They are not Derby games and games we shoul not lose, especially now.
So I think next week will answer some questions.

Well seeing there was at least 60 behind the goal, then quite a few at the side and a few reserve players turned up to watch thats a false statement.

Maybe more would have come if it had been a "local" derby, but no you dont have your own ground in your town do you Smiley

Jeff you are one lucky **** that you played us at one of our worst phases of the last few years. I think its quite obvious that you lot feared us today, which is why you were so happy with the scoreline, you just werent expecting a collapse. Dont start thinking that maidstone are a good side, we made you look semi-pro, no better.
No dubt we have involved ourselves in a relegation battle this season, but i also have no doubt that you ****s will be there too

That wouldnt be difficult seeing they are semi pro?
I wouldnt say they feared us. They are on a similar pattern of form to us and were obviously delighted with 3 points as we would be so time wasted even in the second half to hold that.
It was boring as ***k but then it worked for them.
We had the majority of possession but didnt make it count as we again did not create chances.

we were rubbish today... bring on the next manager i say. One that actually talks to the players at half time.

Harris is useless. For a big man he doesn't win much in the air and what makes it even better is that we got rid of Chopper for him and he now refuses to play centre back. Great! Unless he plays centre back , why keep him?

Reed made some really good saves but can't kick a ball (and it wasnt just today on a dodgy pitch either)

Kember isn't a captain. We lack real leadership on the park. I'd give it to Razor as he seems to do a fair bit of talking where as the rest don't.
I suppose you cant really blame the players though cause the manager doesn't do a team talk at half time and is clueless in half of the decisions he makes. Razor at left back??? For me Hamid has to play in a free role behind one or two strikers. He has something that we all know he's got but he isnt showing it playing right midfield.

I would really like to talk about some positives but to be honest there aren't any.

Very disappointed! Angry

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Scott Gooding captain - it says he is in the programme?

As for Jeff from Maids**m - just ignore him and he'll go away!

I know Kember was still captain for the Cup games even though Gooding was back. I don't actually remember seeing who was captain yesterday.

Bringing in too many new players has backfired, as the team spirit has completely vanished. Summed it up that some players stayed out on the pitch after the game and others went inside, is there a divide now?

Playing Razor left-back yesterday with Heath and Husnu on the bench was a complete joke - there are forwards in the Reserves or Under 18s that would have loved the opportunity to sit on the bench when at least one left-back was never going to get a game. A youngster came on and scored the winner for them - our management doesn't seem to be prepared to take such gambles.

Harris was given a start up front on the basis of a manic 20-minute spell on Tuesday that was never going to compare to yesterday's match, and he was completely ineffective as a result. As for the tactics - it was as if we'd taken one look at the pitch and instantly became scared to try and play football on it. When we did pass it around it was slow and laboured and produced nothing, a habit of late.  Sad

My boys have now scored 15 in two games if anyone wants to put my name forward.  Azn
