Angels fans will have briefly seen Rose and Forbes for yourselves - would they add anything to your present team?

Erm..........no.

Kadi and Adeniyi on the other hand.................. Wink

I said they were exceptional, not experienced. This is probably getting a bit boring now, but I don't see why you're emphasising the fact that they're average players when they're clearly not.  Rose is saying that they've not played as well as they can so far, and they've still scored 24 goals in 4 games, apparently walking the ball into the net on a number of occasions (against Sevenoaks Tiesse apparently dribbled the ball round 5 players before walking the ball over the line). Are these players that would struggle a level higher? I bet if they were in Ryman one they'd be top of the league - they wouldn't score as many goals but they'd be damned hard to beat.

I said they were exceptional, not experienced. This is probably getting a bit boring now, but I don't see why you're emphasising the fact that they're average players when they're clearly not.

I emphasised that some of the older players were fairly average (Rose, Forbes, Ahwan).  I think we all know that Kadi & Adeniyi would enhance Tonbridge, Dulwich, or anyone else in our division, so presumably they are getting paid a few bob, and I acknowledged that.  The point I was trying to make is that it's a team of largely young and unproven players.  These youngsters weren't getting paid anything playing Reserve/Youth team football at Dulwich and I don't understand why people think they must be getting paid a fortune now they've gone to Beckenham.

I believe their financial backing comes from the same consortium that backs Fisher, but the overall team budget is probably not as huge as some people think.

I haven't seen a clear account of the 9-0 win yet, but some of the comments I've read suggest that Sevenoaks only had nine men on the field for part of the game due to a combination of late arrivals and injuries.

They went down to 9 men 2nd half when 7-0 down already.

The initial point i think you were making RichDHFC was re 'Chinese Whispers'. You cleared it up succinctly. Rumours were abound that the players for Beckenham were all Academy or higher league.

Sometimes a 'fluke' team does happen, along with good management and coaching. Mainly unproven players in the squad with experienced coaching staff, it all comes together at once, highly exceptional but not impossible.

Just out of interest have any of you seen Beckenham this season?  I was going to go to their Wednesday night game at Greenwich but the weather was very wet that day so I didn't bother.

I see from the league table that none of the teams they've played has won a game yet (Whitstable, Greenwich, Slade Green, Sevenoaks) so it's a bit premature to suggest that they may already be capable of winning Ryman 1 purely on the evidence of their first four league results.

I do believe they have an exceptional young manager in Gavin Rose though.  I was sorry to see him leave the Hamlet as I regarded him as a potential First Team manager and it wouldn't surprise me if Beckenham win the Kent League with him in charge. Any team Gavin manages will be worth watching from an entertainment point of view.
