Pub League Champs 05 - Beckenham Town?
« on: Monday, 29 August, 2005, 17:35.26 »

Wouldn't mind if Angel's began a season like this:

Beckenham 6-2 Whitstable
Slade Green 0-2 Beckenham
Greenwich 0-7 Beckenham
Beckenham 9-0 Sevenoaks

Played 4
Won 4
For 24
Against 2

Also, Hythe Town 2-2 Maidscum was a result today.  Grin

Their playing squad is just staggering. Alex Tiesse, who's playing up front for them, was signed from Woking in the Conference, having previously been on the books at Millwall and described on their website as a  "former England U-18 star" - he's still only 20 years old! And then there's Junior Kadi and Peter Adeniyi who were in the Lewes team when they knocked us out of the FA Cup 2 years ago (Kadi was one of the top scorers in the Conference South last season). Gavin Rose was at Gravesend. And most of their players are youngsters on the books of Crystal Palace!

They were 7-0 up a half time against Sevenoaks. Presumably they just got bored buck2 after that

How times change. I seem to recall in our Kent League days BT were the only team we never lost to, in all those seasons. Did they actually take any points from us? Somebody must know.

Have a look at the archive on the site Dave - I know we drew against them in a Vase game as it was my first ever Tonbridge match!

Mike - If Beckenham went up, you wouldn't play them - You are now in the RYMAN league   coolsmiley
