My view is that when an England squad is picked, we pick our best 23 English players available to us. Now if someone can name me 23 English players in better form than David Beckham then i'd like to see it. Its okay saying we need to build for the future and for the championships next summer, but we need to get there first, and at the moment, these players that are deemed 'the future', are nowhere near achieving that. Beckham is only 32. Why are we the only country that deem this too old? Did i not see Zidane put on a man of the match performance in the recent world cup final? (minus the headbutt of course!!)

I reckon Beckham to play is a no brainer.
But it's all irrelevant because if we don't play the right way\style (which we don't\won't under McClown) we'll be lucky to make the quarters on the big stage against the Italians etc. You can't beat those kind of teams playing the English way. It's never worked and never will.
As for 'trying'... charging around, 101% headless chicken type football, is exactly the wrong way to play against teams like Italy etc. on the big stage!  Grin

Thought it was a good performance from the lads last night, just a shame we conceded that late goal. Didn't think we deserved to lose and lots of positives to take.

Stevie G a deserved man of the match but Becks was class and proved a lot of people wrong I think. Brilliant to see him back. Smiley

Very positive going into the Estonia game now. Cheesy

Thought we stroked it about nicely at times, played a bit of 'chess football', was patient.... good to see.
Probably a totally different type of game vs Estonia.

Notice how they put 'the might of Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells'  as an indication of how rubbish they are...awesome!  Grin

Now if they'd mentioned Tonbridge, England might be in trouble (but probably not).

I love the way they portray Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells to be at the same level...PUB LEAGUE! Grin

Gazza, why aren't you in Estonia? Were you afraid of becoming a Jonah or something?
