The lads played their first home game for three weeks against a very physical Welling United team. Spurned chances and a disallowed goal in the first half saw the half end goalless. This left us a lot of hard work to do against a well organised Welling side. Not much of an improvement in the second half as we struggled to break Welling down in the baking heat. Two goals midway through the half seem to settle us down but a defensive lapse let Welling back into the game with a goal scored beating our keeper at his near post after a blocking tackle failed to take the sting out of the ball. A nervous last 8 minutes with little goal action at either end saw the game end 2-1 to the Angels. Not as an impressive performance as last week but a win is a win.
