He's a striker. His job is to put the ball in the back of the net. Job done. Grin

Well yeah it's fair to say he did his job! But his effort is just non-existent, in my opinion

Me personally, not interested with effort from strikers. There to put the ball in the net, best to save their energy for that. They can run round like headless chickens diving for everything but if they don't put the ball in the net, and that is an Art, then no point being there. Only my opinion though.  Grin
Problem with Martin is his league goals have been lacking which is a shame, he's great in the Cups.

Again, I find myself agreeing with you DGD. Grin

Hopefully his goals last night (and Luke's) will boost confidence a little and they'll both start banging 'em in. Afro

although shaggy scored 4 goals, they were all tap ins
luke was on fire tonight, good game for all the angels

I'd have liked to have seen you tap 'em in then.
First two were clear chances yes, but Taff still had to be clean and accurate with the finishes.
Third was a pen he earned himself with a good run,
Fourth was a class finish into the corner which many would have missed.

Luke looked sharp early (what a goal!!), but I thought he gradually faded and wasn't really too involved in any of the other goals. At least he was more into the game than Sat .v. Margate, where he was just a peripheral figure.

Credit where credit is due - last night was mostly about the Shaggy (I'll set 'em up)and Taffy (I'll put 'em away) show. Razor was absolute class when he came on as well.

yes big tone, all of those goals taff scored i could have put away,

the team worked well last night which gifted him his four goals, and the penbalty, if i remember rightly it was a spot0on through ball in the first play that earned the penalty, not his brilliant skill and determination, anyone can run into a keeper to win a penalty.

If on another occasion when the whole team does not play well, i cant see hjim tracking back to help out then charging forward to lift the team in its hour of need, thats all!!

Aaron the last time I saw you play in a football match... our big centre-half ran towards you and upended you quite spectacularly, winning the ball cleanly and not giving away a free-kick! It was the funniest thing I'd seen on a football pitch... until I missed a header from two yards last week.  smitten

On the subject of strikers.most of the best ones are selfish b******s,who care little for the team and play only to score goals for themselves;and yes i do wish i'd been one Grin

Too true guerro. Just sit around goal hanging preserving themselves  Grin
I think my favourite Andy Martin goal last night was his fourth, lovely exquisite dink curling in the corner, weighted perfectly with the through pass.

I must remember to tell Mainy not to put the effort in that he does. But he may score less goals!  Roll Eyes Grin
