Lost 3-2 apparently......  Sad

Warren scored a left-foot cracker, as described by MikeIde and a Barnesy free-kick was deflected over the keeper for the second.

Hopefully more team news and reaction when the travelling Angels fans return.

Roll on Saturday and Fleet............ Cheesy

starting 11 was
Goldsmith
Hollyoak beales Aris Roser
piscina barnes lye heath
leroy may

Goldsmith again performed well (JJ rested to recover from slight knock)

beales and chopper did ok against a big strong no 9. Chopper came off at half time to rest his tight hamstring. Hollyoak had afunny game at times doing well then making the odd mistake. Bert agaim did not perform being at fault for the first goal and often being caught out of position. Talking to some of the travelling  few the opinion is he is definitely not worth a start and I even heard it suggested heshould be released..
Luke tried but was in and out of the game -he shows flashes of brilliance yet seems to be caught doing too much and loses possesion. BArnes good first half. Lye ok Jon Heath outstanding and IMHO should start at LB next Sat

up front Jay Mays aerial presence didnt make up for his poor touch Leroy and Warren had much better games with good work for Warrens goal.

Some of the subs impressed though young Shaw looked composed and Chris Holmes plays better every game.

The good news is the financial side has been 'jiggled' so every player will be retained for the time being and there is a strong possibility of getting 1 or 2 of the Brighton lads we saw Thursday on loan

Good to hear that should JJ get suspended or injured, we have a young keeper able to come in and do a job well. Have to agree with Oldnownewangel, although I have not been at recent matches, I saw enough of Bert last season and beginning of this to think that he doesnt deserve a place in the starting eleven. If we were to release a player, I would hope it would be him, as he's probably one of the highest earners too. Jon Heath is much much better.

Can't wait for the actual season to start now.............cmon ANGELS  Smiley

Great idea, Heath is playing well so let's play him out of position.   Roll Eyes His best games have been in midfield because that is his position so it would surely make more sense to play him where he played today to such good effect.

Craig didn't have the worst game of all the players on the field and particularly did well second half, it's a shame some people seem to have a downer on him at the moment, maybe we expect him to be as good as he was before he broke his leg and he was never that fast anyway.

Agree about Shaw and Holmes, along with Ollie Miles who has looked impressive in pre-season. Unfortunately it looks like we are going to persist with Jay May up front who just isn't good enough, regardless of his size, while Luke despite having sparkled up front recently is going to be played out wide.

Warren was much better today though, thumbs up from here and a great goal by the way.   coolsmiley

Oh and to continue the debate on the pre-season schedule (listen up GSH!), interesting to note the number of players injured or carrying knocks going into the start of the season:

JJ
Razor
Cramp
Smith
Dolby
Hambley
Aris

personally as sooin as smithy is fit i would play him widfe right then nick and danny and dobla

up front Luke and warren look the best option

thus releasing heath to LB where is at least has the pace not to keep getting skinned
