Thanks Dan, for getting the Club's stance on this.
I don't want to be a nuisance here, but I wonder if anyone knows how Mick felt when receiving this written edict?
If Mick no longer wants to attend the matches, that is OK with me. BUT, if Mick isn't attending because he is upset at the Club's letter, then that is an entirely different matter.
HitManHearn, would you be kind enough to find out what Mick feels for me, as you probably have a 'link' to him?
I wasn't aware that good-mannered dogs that are restrained on dog leads are banned from the stadium, .... I know that footballing kids should be banned from playing football, but are good mannered dogs also banned?

OK Semtex ... he is an elderly man, and perhaps in your terminology he is 'sulking'. Semtex, if this is how we treat a guy like Mick who, I understand has, in the past, done more for the Club than any of us would contemplate doing ourselves, what else will be banned in the future?
DirtyGreyDonkey, Mick is an elderly man and isn't too good on his pins. Is he only allowed to stand and watch? As far as I know he hasn't received any verbal warnings from the Club .. why the immediate red card?
I would be interested to know what the terms of the 'complaint' was, and whether it was from an Angels fan, or from a disaffected Dover supporter.
At none of the matches I have attended have the dogs been a nuisance. Tara is so quiet you don't know she is there. Flossy, like myself, doesn't appreciate the distraction of having the little lads footballing in the stadium. There is a sign at the entrance saying 'no footballs in the ground' (or something similar, 'cos I have often wondered how we could have a game in those circumstances!).
Personally I would like the Club to reconsider the ban, unless of course the dogs have savaged someone.
Give the dogs a chance, stop the illegal footballing, and let's see where we go from there.
One complaint .. one injustice.

Footballing in the long stand? Blimey, not seen that but I agree you'd have a job to argue any pros that one. Do they have a mini match in there? Grin I've seen them play *behind* the stands which I think is great and would encourage it.
Like I say Mr. Chips, I'd never complain about the Dogs, in the stand or out of it. No I didn't\am not saying he can only stand or watch, nor am I\did I say he should have the red card! Grin As you know him, can't he leave the Dogs at home?
I agree with you though, alot depends on the type of complaint. The Dover game the seats were full up and the area was crowded. This will happen more this season, so the club could be in a difficult position. Some people might not be prepared to sit next to Dogs. On the other hand I suppose there shoudn't be a problem if he sat on the front row.
OK, maybe I was a little hasty saying I would back the club, depends what the situation is.

I agree with you DirtyGreyDonkey ... there is too much that we don't know about the whole scenario.
The dogs lay quietly at his feet for 95% of the time and their nuisance level is low .... so what actually was the terms of the complaint?
Little lads stamping up and down that awful metal flooring to see how much noise they make is much more of a distraction than the dogs.
I wouldn't give the kids a red card though, and i wouldn't tell them off.
I like to think that the Angels ground is fit for families ... and I welcome seeing the young enjoy themseves.
Live and let live.
I am hoping that someone will feel able to contact Mick and ask him how he sees the situation .... then we can all speak from a balanced stand-point.

I actually really liked the dogs being there, at least one of them was really friendly and wouldn't hurt a fly. So my initial reaction is this is the sort of bureacracy you see more and more of these days where because one person makes a complaint or there a's a million to one chance of someone getting hurt it's enough to take action. But I, like others, would love to have more details. I've absoloutely no idea what clubs policy on this would normally be.
