A friend has spoken to Mike today and he is understandably very upset. He was told of the messages of support for him on this forum, and wishes to convey his gratitude for this support. Let us hope that a solution can be found, and that Mick(and his faithful companions) will be seen at the ground again.

I remember Mick well from the 1960s when he had a black and white collie that wore a blue and white dog coat. All very sad, lets hope a satisfactory resolution can be found. On the subject of the kids with the ball, in the stand on Saturday were four kids causing a nuisance by kicking the seats in front up and down, until somebody told them to clear off. They were carrying a ball, how do they get into the ground with a ball when it is clearly signed "No footballs"

I have not known Mick that long, but I don't think he is the kind of elderly gent who would relish asking 'forgiveness' for his dogs.
I think that the Management should understand the weight of feeling in this matter and originate any discussion with him, hopefully with the view to lifting the banning order.

I was alarmed to see this raised on the Ryman forum and even more alarmed to see it was apparently a complaint received following the Dover game in May. I was filming the game immediately behind Mick and his two dogs and didn't hear them bark once. They just sat and watched the game (I even videoed the dogs sitting watching the game). Occasionally they made a fuss of the people around them, but their behaviour was far better than some of the teenagers around me.
I simply cannot imagine what anyone could have complained about.
I have filmed behind Mick and his two dogs a number of times and always regard him as one of the true characters that epitomise the true spirit of non-league football.
There was a huge crowd at the Dover game and probably some strangers who wouldn't normally go to Tonbridge to see a game. Whenever I have been to Tonbridge previously, there has been the same friendly faces in the stand who welcome Mick and his dogs as 'one of the family'.
It all sounds very sad and unnecessary to me, and I hope all will be resolved before the start of the season.

Thank you Dave1066. It is great to have a 'Dover man' give an independent opinion. Thank you for taking the time to do so. We are hoping that this will be resolved soon. The sooner it is resolved, and this thread dies, the less embarrassed the Club will be as we shouldn't need to expose our injustices to 'outsiders' even friendly ones like yourself. It is a shame that it ha hit the Ryman League Forum ... this should have been settled ages ago.
