Not a big fan of Ronaldo myself .... bit immature, chip on shoulder, cheat etc.
However ... I thought Rooney deserved to go... In my opinion it was a clear cut stamp however subtle he made it look. Not a nice place either  Shocked .
Still, that doesn't excuse any player trying to persuade the Referee. We see it at all levels  Angry , and should be a yellow card. That's a new rule Fifa should bring in  Grin , far worse than diving for me.
There seemed to be quite alot of expectancy this time around? and I felt it showed on the pitch times. None of our best players performed that great and we looked tense.
Lets hope Venables joins up with McClaren. We need his technical know how and we might start playing like these other teams, which in my opinion is the only way to win the big stage (Euro, World Cup) .

Well if the ref had given the two fouls on Rooney before the alleged stamp then it wouldn't of gone that far! I'm not so sure it was a deliberate stamp, more of a case of Rooney using his strength to get away from two dirty Portuguese w*****s! Rooney's only crime was not to go down in the first place to get the free kick, in saying that if he had the ref would have probably sent him off for diving!
