I have waited for a decent time to post this so not to be seen as sour grapes, arrived early Saturday got seats with two other regulars from the stand at Dover and was set to enjoy the game, however we did not bank on people nearer kick off time selfishly standing in front of the seats and completely blocking our view. I then had to go and stand which to honest I did not enjoy. With the potential of bigger gates for you next season it may be worth considering a small charge for the seats and Stewards to keep the space in front of the seats empty. All the best to you for next season, as rightfully the 3rd place team it was justice that you were promoted.

Good point MRP. There were lots of things to think about on the day and I think the crowd was even bigger than expected taking alot by surprise. I'm sure it would have been noted and alot was learnt on the day.
Overall I thought the club done really well considering everything.  Smiley

I agree and sympathise MRP, I was also in the seats but was fortunate to be just a bit further back, but did see people at the front struggling to see either end of the pitch. You can't blame people trying to stay dry even if some were a bit thoughtless but the problem should be addressed.

Along the same lines, I never found out why the sleepers along the bar side of the pitch were taken away, we could have done with them both there and either side of the seats in the stands on saturday.

health and safety risk along the lines of slippery when wet, ask bon jovi !
It was the same at either end, you couldn't see the corner being taken, just waited for the ball to become airborn.
I'm sure that if we started getting crowds like that every week, facilities would have to improve...I didn't even attempt the bar at ht on sat

dengal, you're never in the bar too long anyway, your pint goes down so fast it doesn't touch the sides Cheesy

Yep, the game was a one off.
Maybe the AFC game will be a high crowd next season, depends on how they are doing, day\evening match, time of year etc.
Will be worth remembering Saturday to help in future times.
I didn't goto the 'Palace friendly  Embarrassed

I had no problems with the bar at half-time - as the tables had been removed there was plenty of room to move about and I had someone "pre-order" my beer! It did take longer than usual to be served before the match though. I understand the Dover fans behind the goal were asked by the police not to visit the bar at half-time and instead to rotate around the ground via the long stand.

The sleepers had to be removed on health and safety grounds, I believe it was a Ryman League requirement when we were 'promoted' in 2003/04.

Had the Yeovil game had this sort of crowd then we would have struggled to cope even with the sleepers, it made a huge difference having the stands behind the goal to accommodate so many of the crowd.

Maybe there could be more seats added in the close season?

if any body stands in front of the seats when im there i shout at them
as for any dover fans complaining about seating, youv'e got about 40 posts on the seated side of the ground at crabhole, i would guess only 25% have a unobstructed view of both goals so **** you losers
