CLIVE WALKER has been offered a new contract to keep him as manager at Crabble until the end of next season.

The club's board of directors met on Monday night and all agreed that Clive should remain at Crabble until at least next summer.

Chairman Jim Parmenter said: "We've been delighted with Clive's work since he has come back to the club. We need stability at Dover Athletic and Clive has a proven track record which is second-to-none.

"I am still confident we will achieve promotion, as we set out to do, despite a long list of problems we've had this season.

"Had we not had such bad luck on the injury front this season, which was a freak, we'd have gone up automatically, no problems. We've drawn a lot of games and the odd Jimmy Dryden goal would've made a huge difference. But of course he has been out injured for four months this season.

"Whatever happens in these last games, Clive will still be here next season - and we're delighted with that.

"There's been too much chopping and changing at this club down the years - and we're not going to make those same mistakes again."

Meanwhile the club want fans to turn up early on Saturday and create a carnival atmosphere for a game which could prove to be our biggest since the new board of directors arrived in January 2005.

Pete can you keep your unhealthy obsession with Dover to the Footy Discussion Forum please!

Meanwhile if anyone has any ideas on how to cure Pete (are there Dover-patches available to help him quit?) then please let me know.

Pete - you'd better hope we both stay down in Div 1 as cold turkey ain't all it's cracked up to be you know.  Wink

I'm quite sure, thanks.

I spend all my time on my team's forum, have followed my team for years and years unbroken, I've only been to two Dover games this season (both against Tonbridge) and I am not constantly posting on Dover's forum, or any other team for that matter.

You must be thinking of someone closer to home Gaz.  Wink
