NOT HAPPY re the called off match.

Saturday was the first time a trip to Tonbridge coincided with a home game for over a year. Went into town in the morning, drove by the ground on the way back to parents - no indication that there was going to be any problems putting the game on. Walked to the ground for kick-off with Mrs Ipswichangel and found no cars in carpark and lots of people (including a number of dads with unhappy young boys) walking in the opposite direction. Got to the gates, there was no official indication of the game being postponed until some bloke stuck his head over the fence and shouted "Game's off, waterlogged pitch".

Next time a game is called off, especially when it's that early, could the club at least STICK A BIG NOTICE ON THE GATES SAYING SO, rather than just leaving everybody wondering what the hell is going on. I wasn't able to check online, as my parents don't have a computer, and given the weather, it looked OK for the game to be played, but I hope that something was on the official website.

Sorry to rant, but it was a bit frustrating to say the least.

That's all - see you at Longmead in another years time...

always a hard one- if the club had left it until the last minute more people might have travelled.
So its a no win situation.

Have to say it appeared to have rained very hard overnight - the fields were flooded round here.

using a local ref is always the first option to avoid having the match  officals travel. Fair point about a sign but sadly some people were always going to turn up anyhow as the only available media are the 2 websites and radio **** and who listens to that drivel ?

Yeah but who listens to them. Despite the understandbale frustrations, the fact is there was a hell of a lot more rain overnight on Friday than I think a lot of people appreciate. It really bucketed down and I had a feeling even before looking at the site that the news would be bad.

I listen to KMFM as i lurve the music, the banter of the presenters the news and the travel updates to and from work. And most importantly the advertising it gives to the Angels.  Smiley

Ipswich Angel or any other exile. If you are coming to a match 'pm' one of the regular members you mobile number if you dont have access to a comp and we can keep you updated on the day if a match will be on or off.

True KM, you've caught me out. I do turn down some of that modern stuff when they play it, it hurts my ears. But, i've forgotten the frequency for radio 4, can you give it to me again?  Kiss

My favourite part of thier show is when we are playing Tooting & Mitchum or Lymington & New Milton - they always say - It's not fair we have to play against 2 teams - Ha, ha, ha, he, he, he..........That always cracks me up  Grin idiot2
